Excellent shoe for a great price
I train in Krav Maga and boxing at my gym and after using running shoes for a while (which worked out okay for Krav but could really feel obstructing my movement and quickness in boxing), I searched for reasonably priced boxing/wrestling shoes. My instructor actually wears these in addition to some other guys in my gym, so I decided these would definitely be worth taking a look. At first I bought this product from my local Dick's Sporting Goods store but ended up returning it and buying these shoes from Amazon instead after I found them to be a good $10 cheaper on Amazon (love this part about the site). I've worn these shoes numerous times now and I must say they are really good - comfortable, light, stable, aesthetically pleasant (but nothing spectacular), pretty much everything a beginner to intermediate-level trainee would look for. I can definitely see the improvement in my movement in boxing so to anyone using running shoes for boxing, I would highly recommend investing in...

Bought for cross training
I searched for a flat bottom shoe for performing exercises like dead lifts and other exercises that are best performed with a zero lift show. I settled on this wrestling type show because I saw other people using them.The show feels great, but has a small fit. You will need to buy them a size larger than you normally wear.

TRUE, I agree with the previous review. Whatever size you think you are, order the next size up. I got a 9 and it's too tight even with thin socks. I'm getting a 10 next.

This is a great shoe. The size ran a little small and we had to return the first order to get a larger size. Amazon customer service is the best. This is a good shoe. You will not be disappointed.

If your wrestler has wide feet they may not be the best choice. We tried a size larger and still too tight. Good quality shoes.

A wonderful shoe for fighting sports
I have plantar fasciitis so I am forced to look for shoes with the greatest combination of support and comfort possible. I know these are wrestling shoes but I use them for Krav Maga and Boxing. There was no need to break them in. They are lightweight but sturdy. They have excellent grip on MMA mats (maybe even a little too much). The split sole design allows my forefoot and hindfoot to move independent of one another, similar to not wearing a shoe at all, but still provides support to my midfoot (arch and plantar fascia) which has tremendously eased the amount of plantar fasciitis and heel pain I feel after several hours of training. I find wearing the thinner running-style socks work best with this shoe because it makes it easier to get my foot in and out of the shoe (in addition to the normal benefits of a running sock). I like the look of the shoe which is a huge bonus. They do run about a 1/2 size small so order up a size.

Super light
I bought these shoes for Krav Maga as going barefoot was killing me when we did bag strikes. They are super light and because the bottom is only partially rubberized they have just the right amount of grip allowing me to pivot when kicking but still affording me the grip I need when grappling. I payed full price and would do it again. 5 stars

Adidas: Not only asics makes good wrestling shoes
I originally were looking at purchasing these because they looked professional, simple, and they were my teams color and the fact that my whole team decided on getting this shoe. I was skeptical on getting them because they looked cheap and didn't look durable. I ended up purchasing them in black anyways, I find myself liking these over my previous asics split second 7 shoes. These shoes have holes all around the shoes so your feet can breath and they don't smell. These shoes are very light so don't worry about having shoes that you have to drag your feet with. A friend had white and after 2 weeks they were pretty dirty but they look cool regardless. I have to tape my ankles to sorta act as a brace and they leave residue on the shoes but a simple wash and air dry works. These shoes also have a pocket in the tongue to hide your shoelaces so you don't have to tape your shoes. These shoes are very tight and comfortable. Probably the best shoes for the low price. Durrable and comfortable!
Throughout my wrestling career, I got the top of the line Asics shoe each season... and they each lasted one season. When I began coaching in 2002, I needed a new pair and bought the then-current version of this shoe. 11 years (10 seasons) of coaching/wrestling later, I finally killed the shoe. I can't think of any reason why I'd buy a different brand/model at this point!
